Nomad Dave Riding

Inspiration From the Seat of a Motorcycle

Who doesn’t like stories about travel?  In this presentation, Nomad Dave focuses on life lessons that he learned or had reinforced over the past 10 years of traveling the world.  Interesting stories from those travels that he’s accumulated are used to highlight those lessons in a way that they can be applied to oneself to make it through life happier and more fulfilled.  A few of the life lessons you’ll hear about include compassion, challenging oneself, and appreciation.   All the life lessons presented correlate to the essence of being a Rotarian.  This is an ideal presentation for a Rotary club, leaving members inspired.  It is a nice change of pace from typical presentations found at Rotary clubs.

WWII Revisited 75 Years Later

This fast-paced tour through the Pacific Theater of WWII is packed with pictures along with interesting stories and insights that makes for an exciting presentation.  Having spent a year in Japan as an exchange student and subsequently living there for 12 years The Manic Nomad holds a lifelong fascination with WWII in the Pacific.  In his quest to travel to every country he took the opportunity to visit many of the famous and not so famous battle sites throughout the Pacific.  Being an adventure travel junkie and an avid SCUBA diver, he went off the beaten track to uncover WWII remains that are hard to find and dove on many sunken ruins of the war.  This talk is a definite crowd pleaser.

Maldive Islands

Travel Essentials from an Expert

Everyone travels but few know all the secrets to travel that The Manic Nomad shares in this presentation.  Nomad Dave pulls from his years of adventure travel experience to provide tips that you’ll find useful, practical, and even money-saving.  Topics covered include travel itinerary planning, safety and peace of mind, money matters, communications, portable entertainment, and more.  Undoubtedly, anyone listening to this talk will be able to take something away from it that they can make good use of.

Life as an Expat

This is an interesting look into what it is like to live in a foreign country.  Living the life of an expat comes with many rewards but has its challenges as well.  This talk explores these rewards and challenges in an entertaining and informative way as you “travel” to Japan, Canada, and Argentina.  You’ll be exposed to different cultures, societal values, politics, economies, work culture, health care, food, language and more.   This presentation always generates a lot of Q & A.  You’ll get a glimpse into a lifestyle that few people get to live but of which many have dreamt.
