My tour of Western Europe started by cutting across Northern Italy and then all along the Mediterranean coast to the southernmost tip of Portugal. From there I headed north along the Atlantic coast and after an inland stop in Madrid I headed further north along the French coastline. It was late in the year so weather could have been a big factor but I lucked out with unusually warm and dry weather.
