Nomad Dave & Travel:
The passion for travel started early with me. I was 13 years old when I first got on a plane and spent a week in Hawaii. Who wouldn’t love travel after that kind of experience. A few years later just after turning 15 I got to take a one month trip to Japan. Coming from a Western culture and going to Japan was such an eye opening experience.
I did not have enough. At sixteen I moved to Japan for one year as a high school exchange student. After that year I felt like a completely different person. I was no longer just a tourist. I had actually immersed myself in and learned a new culture. I had made lifelong friends in a country so far from my home and learned the power of the experience of travel.
In the following years I ended up living in Japan for a total of 12 years and Canada for 6 years. Through business trips and vacations I had traveled to about 35 countries when I got the smallest of inklings that 35 countries just wasn’t very many and I should do something about it.
Well the idea kept growing on me until I ended up setting a goal for myself to travel to every country in the world. I am now on that journey…
